App terms and conditions
AddVantage Sports and Adventure Club · Last updated [date]
1.Who provides AddVantage
AddVantage is a private accountability community for men. The app is built and operated by [OPERATOR LEGAL NAME] ("we", "us"), registration number [COMPANY REGISTRATION NUMBER], of [REGISTERED ADDRESS].
The community itself belongs to Andrew "Drew" Birch. Our current understanding is that Clever Executions built and runs the app on his behalf, and that he runs the community inside it. The exact legal relationship between the two must be confirmed before these terms are published. Whatever it turns out to be, one named party is responsible to you under these terms, and that party is the one named at the top of this section.
In these terms:
- "the app" means the AddVantage mobile app, on Android and on iOS.
- "the community" means the members inside it.
- "an admin" means a member whose account is flagged as an administrator. In practice that is Drew and anyone he gives that flag to.
- "you" means you, the member.

2.What AddVantage is
AddVantage is a peer accountability tool. Men join, log what they said they would do, and answer to each other for it in a shared chat.
What the app currently does:
- One community chat. A single room that every member can read and post in, with photos, message tags (General, Win, Prayer, Accountability, Question) and threaded replies.
- The 100 Club Challenge. A fixed daily list of seven tasks, named in the app as "Wake Up @ Set Time", "Perform MBP", "100 Push-ups", "No Porn / Fap", "10 Pages Read", "1 Physical Activity" and "Quit min 2 Vices". You name your own two vices. Miss a day and your run resets to day one.
- A wake up alarm you set yourself. Read section 4 before you rely on it.
- Training and stats. Workout logging, personal bests, and a private weight log.
- A private vision board and a private reading log. You can share a reading entry to the chat if you choose to, one entry at a time.
- Scripture and resources. A King James Bible reader, reading plans, and Power Plan documents published by an admin.
- Automatic community posts. A daily report naming who completed the challenge and who did not, a "first man up" post, a Yellow Jersey streak handover, badges, and a leaderboard.
- Automated callouts. If you log nothing for three days running, the system drafts a blunt message about you by name and holds it for an admin to approve or bin. Section 12 explains this in full.
The app does not send push notifications. That part was built but has never been switched on, so at present the only thing the app can make your phone do on its own is ring the alarm you set.
Video upload is in the same position. The code to upload a video and a place to store one both sit in the build, so a scanner reading it will report the app as video capable, but nothing in the app calls that code and there is no way to post a video.
Features change. We may add, change or remove any of this at any time.
3.AddVantage is not medical, psychological or spiritual advice
Read this section properly. It matters more than the rest of the document.
AddVantage tracks body weight, physical training, sexual behaviour in the form of pornography and masturbation abstinence, self declared vices such as alcohol or drugs, sleep and wake times, and religious practice. That is serious territory for an app that is, at bottom, a shared checklist and a group chat.
So, plainly:
- AddVantage is not a healthcare service. It is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, not a treatment plan, and not supervision by anyone qualified to provide any of those.
- It is not therapy or counselling. No mental health professional is involved in the community, in the daily report, or in the automated callouts.
- It is not addiction treatment. Naming a vice in the app and ticking a box each day is not a recovery programme. If you are dealing with a dependency on alcohol, drugs, pornography or anything else, get proper help alongside this.
- It is not pastoral care. The app contains scripture and prayer requests because the community is Christian. That is not the same as counselling from a pastor or a qualified counsellor. Admins and members are not held out as clergy or as trained counsellors, and nothing in the app has been reviewed by any church or ministry.
- Other members are not experts. Anything a member posts is his own opinion. Advice you get in the chat about training, diet, weight, sex, faith, money, marriage or mental health comes from another man with a phone, not from a professional.
Before you start any physical training, including the 100 push ups task, speak to a doctor, particularly if you have an injury, a heart condition or another health problem, or if you have not trained in a long time. You train at your own risk.
Weight tracking is not for everyone. If you have or have had an eating disorder, or if tracking your weight has been bad for you before, do not use those features, and speak to a professional.
Never stop or change prescribed treatment because of anything in this app or anything a member says in it.
If you are in crisis. If you are thinking about harming yourself or someone else, or you are in immediate danger, do not post it in the chat and wait. The chat is other members with jobs and families, not a monitored crisis line. Nobody is watching the app around the clock. Get real help now:
[CRISIS SUPPORT DETAILS]
If it is an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
4.The alarm is not a safety device
The app can ring a real alarm at a time you set, and on Android it uses the same high priority alarm mechanism as the phone's own clock app.
Do not rely on it for anything where failing to wake up has consequences.
Not for work, not for shift starts, not for flights, not for exams, not for medication timing, not for driving, not for childcare, not for anything else that matters. Use your phone's built in clock app or a separate alarm clock for those things. If waking up on time is important, set a second alarm that has nothing to do with AddVantage.
The alarm can fail to ring, and there are ordinary, everyday reasons why:
- Battery optimisation. Many Android phones, Samsung and Xiaomi in particular, shut down background apps aggressively. That can stop the alarm firing. The app shows a link to allow background activity, and on some phones you still have to set AddVantage to "unrestricted" in the battery settings yourself. No code can fully get around this.
- Permissions. The alarm needs notification and exact alarm permissions. If those are refused, revoked, or reset by the system, it will not ring.
- Operating system updates can change or reset any of the above without warning.
- iOS is weaker. On iPhone, Apple does not allow a third party app to override silent mode or Do Not Disturb, and the alarm will not ring if the app has been fully closed. On iOS, treat it as a reminder only.
- The obvious ones. A flat battery, a phone that is switched off, a force stopped app, an uninstalled app, or a phone left in another room.
We do not promise the alarm will ring. We are not responsible for anything that happens because it did not.
5.Who may join
You may use AddVantage only if:
- You are at least 16 years old, and if you are 16 or 17, a parent or guardian has agreed to you joining.
- You have been invited or approved to join this community.
- You can enter into a binding agreement where you live.
- You have not previously been removed from the community.
When you create your account the app asks whether you are 18 or over, 16 or 17, or under 16, and it will not create an account for anyone who answers under 16.
If you are 16 or 17 you are a child in law, and we may only keep information about you with the prior consent of a parent, guardian or other competent person. The app asks for their name, their relationship to you and their email address, and records that they have agreed. We may write to them to confirm it. If they tell us they did not agree, we delete the account and everything in it.
We do not ask your date of birth and we do not verify your age. By creating an account you are confirming that you meet the age requirement, and, if you are 16 or 17, that your parent or guardian has read the privacy policy and agreed. If that is not true, do not create an account.
A word to parents. The app contains frank material about pornography and masturbation, unfiltered chat between adult men, and automated messages that name and criticise individuals. It is not built for children.
This is a private, invitation based community. Membership is at the discretion of the admins. We are not obliged to give you an account, and we are not obliged to explain a decision not to.
6.Your account
- Sign up takes an email address and a password. Keep both to yourself.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account.
- One account per person. Do not create an account for anyone else, do not use anyone else's email address, and do not share your login.
- Use a real name, or the name the community knows you by. Impersonating another member, an admin, or Drew is a straight removal.
- If you think someone else has your password, reset it in the app and tell an admin.
- Your data and airtime costs are yours. So is keeping your phone secure.
7.Cost
The app contains no payments, no subscriptions and no in app purchases. Nothing in the app charges you anything.
If membership of the community involves a fee agreed with Drew outside the app, that arrangement is between you and him, and these terms do not govern it.
8.What other members can see
This is an accountability community, so most of what you do in it is visible to everyone else in it. Do not assume anything is private unless the app says so.
Visible to every other member:
- Your name, photo, bio, province, membership tier and badges.
- Your "What you are grateful for" and "What you affirm" text.
- The two vices you name.
- Your goal weight, if you set one.
- Every message you post, including photos, and including anything you choose to share from your reading log.
- Which tasks you ticked, on which day. That includes the No Porn / Fap task.
- Your workouts, including the notes on them, and your personal bests.
- Your streaks, your place on the leaderboard, and your name in the daily completed or failed lists.
Kept to you, and not visible to other members or to admins:
- Your vision board.
- Your weight log entries.
- Your reading log, unless you share an entry to the chat.
- Your Bible reading progress and your alarm settings.
One thing about photos that you should know. Your profile photo and any photo you post in the chat are stored at a public web address. The address is long and very hard to guess, but anyone who has it can open the photo without logging in to the app. Vision board photos are stored differently and are not reachable that way.
The privacy policy at [PRIVACY POLICY URL] explains all of this properly, including where the data is stored, who else it reaches, and what happens to vision board photos that were uploaded before the privacy update in 2026. Read it. If you are not comfortable with the community seeing the things in the first list, this is not the app for you.
Members can screenshot, copy and repeat anything you post. We cannot prevent that. Post accordingly.
9.How to behave here
By using AddVantage you agree not to:
- Post anything unlawful, threatening, harassing or hateful, or anything targeted at someone because of race, sex, religion, nationality, disability or sexual orientation.
- Post pornographic or sexually explicit images or content. Being honest about your own struggle with pornography is the point of the app. Posting it is not.
- Post graphic violence, or content that encourages self harm, suicide, disordered eating or drug abuse.
- Bully, pile on, or use a man's confession against him. The Prayer and Accountability tags exist so men can be honest. Abusing that trust is the fastest way out of this community.
- Repeat outside the community what a member shares inside it. Screenshots of the chat do not belong on WhatsApp, on social media, or anywhere else.
- Post another person's private information, or a photo of anyone who has not agreed to be in it.
- Post content you do not own or do not have permission to post.
- Advertise, sell, recruit, promote a business, or run a scheme of any kind.
- Impersonate anyone, or claim to speak for the admins or for Drew.
- Spam, flood the chat, or try to get around the app's rate limits. The app caps how much you can post and log in a given period, as an anti abuse measure.
- Attack, probe, reverse engineer, scrape or overload the app, its database or its storage, or try to reach data that is not yours.
- Use the app to break any law, or to help anyone else do it.
Use common sense. This is a small community of men who know each other. Behave the way you would in a room with them.
10.Your content
You keep ownership of everything you post. Your messages, your photos, your notes and your logs are yours.
By posting content in the app you give us permission to store it, display it to other members, back it up and process it for the purpose of running the app and the community. That permission lasts as long as the content is in the app, and it covers nothing else. We do not sell your content, we do not use it in advertising, and we do not feed it to any AI system.
You are responsible for what you post. You confirm that you have the right to post it, and that posting it does not break the law or anyone else's rights.
Some practical points about how the app actually works:
- You cannot edit or delete your own chat messages. Once a message is sent, only an admin can remove it. Think before you send, and be careful with photos.
- Sharing a reading note to the chat cannot be undone by you. It becomes an ordinary post from you, and only an admin can delete it.
- Deleting a photo from your vision board removes the tile, but the underlying file stays in storage. The same applies to a profile photo you replace.
- Badges cannot be removed, including by you. Task logs and personal bests you can delete yourself.
- A workout cannot be deleted from inside the app. There is no delete button for one anywhere in it. Your workouts, including the notes you write on them, are visible to every member, so log them on the understanding that they stay. If you need one removed, email [CONTACT EMAIL].
- Chat is live. Every message is sent to every member's phone as it is posted.
11.What admins can do
Admins have real power in this app. Here is exactly what it is, as the app is built:
- Pin a message to the top of the chat.
- Delete any message, including yours. Deletion is permanent and there is no way to get it back.
- Delete your personal bests.
- Post announcements to the whole community.
- Mark a member as removed. See section 13.
- Assign a membership tier. Every member starts as AVSAC. An admin can promote a member to OG or Core. Your tier shows beside your name. Core was designed as the tier that gets asked the community's questions. Tiers give you no additional rights under these terms.
- Configure the challenge tasks, publish resources and reading plans, and approve or reject Power Plans that members submit.
- Approve, edit or dismiss automated callouts. See section 12.
Admins cannot rewrite the words in a message. The app has no way to edit one, so a message is either left as it is or deleted outright. The database rule that lets an admin change a message row does exist, so an admin going at the database directly could edit a message that way, but the app does not offer it.
Admins cannot edit your profile text, your gratitude and affirmation text, your vices or your goal weight. They cannot see your vision board, your weight log, your reading log or your alarm settings.
Admins are members of this community, not a professional moderation team. They moderate when they see something, not around the clock. We do not promise to review or monitor content, we do not promise to remove any particular content, and we do not promise to act on a complaint within any particular time.
12.The daily report and automated callouts
Every morning the app posts an automatic report to the chat. It names the members who completed the challenge the day before and the members who did not, and it announces any change of hands in the Yellow Jersey streak.
The first man up is a separate post and does not come from that report. It is posted at the moment an alarm is dismissed, by the first member to dismiss one between 03:00 and 10:00 South African time, and it names him in the chat.
These posts are generated by a fixed rule, not by an AI model, and there is no way to opt out of being named in them while you are a member.
Callouts. If you log nothing at all for three days running, the system automatically drafts a blunt message about you, by name, from a small set of fixed templates. They are deliberately confrontational. One of them reads, for example, "{name} has been a ghost for {days} days. Somebody get hold of him before he disappears completely."
How it works, precisely:
- The draft is not posted automatically. It waits for an admin.
- An admin can approve it, edit it, or dismiss it.
- If it is approved, it is posted to the whole community as a system message tagged Accountability.
- You are not shown a callout that has been drafted about you. There is no screen for it in the app, and the only screen that reads callouts at all is the admin screen. You find out when an admin approves it and it appears in the chat under your name. You cannot edit, dismiss or delete it. Only an admin can.
- Dismissed callouts stay in the system.
This is intentional. It is how this community works, and by joining you accept that your name may be used this way. If that is not for you, do not join. If you think a callout is unfair or wrong, take it up with an admin at [ADMIN CONTACT].
Reporting a problem. There is currently no report, block or mute button in the app. If another member breaks section 9, or posts something about you that should not be there, contact an admin directly at [ADMIN CONTACT]. An admin can delete the message and remove the member.
13.Suspension, removal and leaving
You can leave at any time. Sign out and stop using the app. If you want your account and your data actually deleted, read section 14, because signing out does not do that.
We can remove you. An admin can mark you as removed at any time, with or without notice, if you break these terms, if you damage the community, or if the admins decide the fit is not right. You do not have to have done anything wrong.
What being removed actually does, in the app as built:
- You see a screen telling you that you have been removed, and you can sign out.
- You cannot post, log tasks, log workouts or add anything new.
- If you were signed in when it happened, you are not signed out, and nothing expires your session on its own. What stops you is the database: from the moment you are marked as removed, every attempt to write anything new is refused. The removed screen appears the next time the app loads your profile, which happens when you start the app or when your sign in is next refreshed, not on a countdown.
- You disappear from the leaderboard and from the top three lists.
- Everything you posted stays. Your messages, your photos, your task history including your No Porn / Fap logs, your workouts, your badges and your full profile remain in the app, and remain visible to the community.
- Being removed is not the same as your data being deleted.
If you want your data gone as well, you have to ask for it. See section 14.
We may also suspend or shut down the app, or the whole community, at any time.
14.Deleting your account and your data
There is no delete button in the app at present. We would rather tell you that straight than pretend otherwise.
To have your account and your data deleted, email [DATA REQUEST EMAIL] from the address on your account and ask for deletion. When we action it:
- Your login and your profile are deleted.
- The records attached to your profile go with them. That includes your messages, your task history, your workouts, your personal bests, your badges, your weight log, your vision board entries, your reading log and your alarm settings.
- Files you uploaded, such as your profile photo and any chat photos, are stored separately from the database and have to be removed by hand. We will remove them as part of the same request.
- Some things survive in a de-identified form. A resource or a reading plan you submitted that an admin published stays in the app, but is no longer linked to your name.
- Deletion is permanent. We cannot undo it and we cannot give you your history back afterwards.
You also have rights under South African data protection law, including the right to ask what we hold about you and the right to have it corrected or deleted. The privacy policy at [PRIVACY POLICY URL] explains how to exercise them.
15.This is beta software
AddVantage is currently distributed through Apple TestFlight and as a direct Android build. It is a work in progress. It has bugs, it changes without notice, and features can appear or disappear between builds.
If you install it through TestFlight, Apple's own beta terms apply to that distribution as well, and Apple collects its own information about testers. That is between you and Apple.
Do not treat anything in the app as a permanent record. Keep your own copy of anything you would be upset to lose.
16.Other services the app uses
The app relies on services we do not control:
- Supabase hosts the database, the login system, the file storage and the
background functions. The project runs in the AWS
eu-central-2region, which is Zurich, Switzerland. Switzerland is not in the European Union or the European Economic Area. The privacy policy at [PRIVACY POLICY URL] sets out what that means for your information leaving South Africa. - bible-api.com supplies the King James Bible text. Passage requests go to that service over the internet.
- Google Fonts supplies three typefaces, which the app downloads when it starts.
- Apple distributes the app to iPhones, through TestFlight. Google makes Android and runs the services an Android phone relies on, but it does not distribute AddVantage. The Android build is handed out directly, as section 15 says.
If any of these goes down, changes, or stops working, parts of the app will stop working too. We are not responsible for those services, and their own terms apply to them. The privacy policy explains what data reaches each one.
17.The app is provided as is
We provide AddVantage "as is" and "as available", to the fullest extent the law allows.
We do not promise that:
- The app will be available, uninterrupted or error free.
- The alarm will ring. See section 4.
- Any message, log, photo or record will be preserved, backed up or recoverable.
- Anything another member posts is true, accurate, safe or useful.
- Using the app will produce any particular result, whether physical, mental, spiritual or otherwise.
We are not responsible for what members do to each other, in the app or outside it. This is a community of adults who are accountable for their own conduct.
18.Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, income, data, opportunity or reputation, arising out of your use of the app.
- We are not liable for anything that happens because the alarm did not ring, or because a message or report was late, wrong or missing.
- We are not liable for any injury, illness or health consequence arising from training, dieting, weight tracking or any other activity you take on in connection with the app. See section 3.
- We are not liable for the conduct of other members, or for anything they post, say or do.
- We are not liable for loss of data, or for content deleted by an admin or lost through a fault in the app or in a service it depends on.
- Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for all claims together is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us for the app, which is currently nothing, and ZAR 1,000.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our gross negligence, liability for fraud, and any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or other South African law that cannot be contracted out of.
You agree to cover us for any claim brought against us by someone else because of content you posted or because you broke these terms.
19.Changes to these terms
We can change these terms. If we make a material change, we will tell members in the app or by email, and we will update the effective date at the top.
Carrying on using the app after a change means you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the app and ask us to delete your account.
20.Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of [GOVERNING LAW: South Africa, to confirm]. Any dispute goes to the courts of [GOVERNING LAW: South Africa, to confirm], and you and we both consent to their jurisdiction.
Before anyone goes near a court, contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL] and let us try to sort it out. Most problems in a community this size are solved by a conversation.
21.The rest
- The whole agreement. These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the app, and they replace anything said before.
- If part of this fails. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
- You cannot transfer this agreement. We may transfer it to a company that takes over the app.
- We are not partners. Nothing here makes you and us partners, employer and employee, or agents of each other.
